Thankful

Parenting is hard.

Did you guys know that?

Yesterday Huck pulled a pan of freshly made caramel sauce off the table and spilled it all down the front of him. He was writhing in pain and I freaked out...

thankfully my friend Shannon was there for support, right behind me with a cold rag as I tried to get him out of his clothes...

and thankfully I had put the caramel in the freezer for a few minutes before this happened...

and thankfully he had on a shirt. I put him in a cold bath and called the Dr- his whole torso was beet red. They kept putting me on hold, I was trying to stay under control, but the tears were welling up...

Once I took him out of the cold water he seemed fine like he wasn't even hurt. Then in about an hour his chest wasn't red anymore. Shew! I still wanted to crawl up into a ball and cry for a few hours, but I just couldn't be more thankful that he was ok. It is so scary how quickly something potentially life threatening can happen.

And then this is how we finished the day:
Running naked through the hose water with Uncle Chance and Aunt Ash.
Aaaahh, a day in the life of Huck Bigley.

Life is a whirlwind, so hang on tight!
