Toddler Style

One of the many joys of having children is getting to dress them, right?!
I love this look for my little man

What a rascal! He rocks this thrifted look! I think the key to making this look masculine is the super-hero themed shirt. Also wearing the shirt a little big balances the tight leggings.

Shirt- yardsale, leggings- children's orchard, moccasins- ebay

Hello, Old Friend!

This post is a major catch-up-post as so much has been happening lately that I haven't shared. These photos aren't in any sort of chronological order.
I dug out the fisher price little people barn at my parent's house the other day- toys like these make me excited to play!
Turns out Huck has the harmonica gene passed down from his great grandpa Huck.
My sister and I went to Casper's for lunch the other day- which I have always wanted to go to but they are only open part of the year and only for a few hours a day and it's really small so if you get there late there's nowhere to sit. it was really fun and kitschy in there and I'd love to go again. And I allowed Huck to sit on the table long enough to get a pic and then made him get down. I'm a great mother ;)
I got a new nephew for Christmas! He's amazing and adorable!
Bubby likes to talk about "ba-by Gunnah" (Gunner), it's precious!
I made this bear blanket for Huck for Christmas and am so happy with the result, I think he likes it too!
I guess everyone in the house likes it for that matter!
I did a little craft show in the middle of December. Unfortunately there was a blizzard the night before, as there so often has been this winter, so not many ppl came, however, my set up looked great and I met a new crafty friend and made some good trades, so all in all it was a good day!
I had a sweet helper for a little bit.

I babysat Nora a few times when her daycare was closed because of weather. How cute are they? Do you see her rocking that moose? And him reading to her? oh man! Hurts my uterus!
Huck loves "Doe-he" (Dorothy)
Christmas card photo shoot

Ok, that's it for the photos. Time to talk about new year's resolutions. I only have one official one although I'm sure there are several things I will work on throughout the year.

My resolution is to make a point to live life, as in have differing experiences throughout the year so I can look back at my year and say "I did _______ and ________ and went here and did that." We tend to be home-bodies, and I'm ok with that (good thing or I'd be a miserable stay at home mom) but I don't want that or financial worries or laziness or inconvenience to stop me from experiencing life.

Today is supposed to be the most depressing day of the year, but I'm feeling inspired and ready to tackle the year, and I wish you the same inspiration and joy!

Christmas Thoughts

What does it say about me that I can't read How the Grinch Stole Christmas with out choking up? It means I'm Patte and David's daughter, and it means that we could all learn a little something from those whos down in whoville. Did they pout when their toys and decorations and feasts were gone? No! They joined together and sang, gosh darn it! I don't think we would handle it so well!

Ok, well anyhoo.
Guess what's fun- playdough and Christmas cookie cutters and Christmas music- add your favorite toddler and BAM!

Fell off the blogging wagon

I have not had any blogging motivation or inspiration lately, I think it's because I have been so busy and have only been doing craft projects for selling instead of for my own personal enjoyment.

Since August I started teaching a class at our local community college, we put our house up for sale, I have had a craft show almost every weekend, along with other everyday life things. Those are the things that have been taking up most of my time. Now my camera is on the fritz, which severely limits my creativity, or at least the documentation thereof.
Don't you wish people got his excited to see you? My husband gets this kind of reception everyday, at least when he drives up in his truck!
Now that it is cooler her in SW MO and I can wear my slippers and thermal shirts and drink my coffee, and the holidays are coming up I'm starting to feel more like cooking and decorating so I will have more to blog about.
Grandma got Huck a duck push toy at a local apple festival and he pushed it for miles! Too sweet.

Well, I think we are pretty caught up now, so I will try to keep it that way for a while.

Snapshots

4th of July is over, man I love that holiday! Now we have someone new to share the love with- he was pretty fond of the 4th of July parade!

Life is a whirlwind this week- God's gentle reminders that life is unpredictable are keeping me on my toes!
Last week was a great holiday week- I didn't have any babysitting to do, and Jim took off most of the week. We didn't do much, but it was fun. Over the weekend we went to KC to see my friend, went to the zoo and a Royals game. Which is where we discovered fountains and back-flipping polar bears!

I started watching another kid this week, so far so good. You tell him it's nap time and he goes and lays down. What's up with that? Can I clone him?

I have made 20 sales in the last 30 days on the ole Etsy shop- that is so good for me! I am loving the new wave of views, favorites, sales, etc. I don't know exactly what has made business pick up, but it makes me super-duper happy!

Looking ahead to the tentative schedule of fall craft shows is really exciting- we are very motivated at this point and the schedule reflects that- once it is finalized I will share- but this is all that is finalized for now:

Red Dirt Roadshow Springfield, MO: August 22-23
2 Friends and Junk Joplin, MO Sept 28-29
2 Friends and Junk Springfield, MO November 15-16
Speaking of crafts, I made this bulletin board for my sister in law's soon to be farm/cowboy nursery. It isn't quite done- I think the frame needs some distressing still.

My birthday is in 15 days- I will be the big 2.7.
Yowsa! I had a little kid the other day guess that I was 18- I tip my hat to you, little kid.

Well that is all I know for now, I'm going to soak up some solitude before naps are over!
