I'm serious ask your grandpa can I have his hand-me-downs?

Random-ness for the day:
This shirt and jeans were both my mom's- stole them out of the attic. I'm not going to lie- these jeans are uncomfortable but I love them!

I drank too much coffee...

Have you guys ever made cucumber water? It is so easy and amazing! I'm amazed anyway- drinking it right now, going to keep it on hand all summer!
Instructions: Slice up a cucumber and a lemon, put it in a pitcher of water in your fridge- keep adding water as you go- it really is that easy, and the flavor is really intense!

I am getting ready to launch some vintage items in our Etsy shop and I'm so excited! I actually don't want to sell them, but then again I do- it's a conundrum. You need to go check them out.

Also I'm super excited about how photographic the new color in my living room is!

Oh and I'm in LOVE with the freezer paper stenciling we did for craft night- the girls made some great things!

Well, those are the things I'm high on for now- have a great weekend!

Mother's Day 2013

Yesterday was such a beautiful day. We got up, got Lox Bagels and Turtle Lattes from the Brown Egg, went shoe shopping, then headed to church.

After that we went to my in-laws for a delicious dinner of bacon wrapped grilled chicken, pasta salad, potato salad, and baked beans- all of which I didn't help with at all.

Huck enjoyed playing with his aunts, uncles, and cousins and playing outside. He was being so sweet to this kitten at first giving it kisses and nuzzling it, but then he started trying to bite it and crush it's skull- sorry little kitty...it's fine by the way.

Oh, and I wore an awesome outfit- my thrifted skort that I hemmed up, a lace backed cardigan, and my new mother's day shoes!

Great day all in all!

weekend recap

Friday I hit a few garage sales and bought some clothes. This is a sweater and matching skirt which I plan to wear as separates. I'm going to hem this skirt to just below the knee.
The sweater looks perfect with my favorite pair of mom jeans!
This is a skort, but you can't tell unless you're really looking. I'm going to shorten it to below the knee too! I'm thinking a white tank and a brown belt will top it off just right!

This shirt needs the sleeves removed and maybe a little tailoring to make it more fitted but I think it will be really cute in the end. Even if I don't get around to taking it in on the sides it will look cute tucked in to a skirt or shorts.

Can't pass up a vintage apron- especially for a quarter!

I've been searching craig's list for one of these play houses, and guess what?! A lady stopped me while I was taking the kids for a walk last Thursday and asked me if I wanted a play house. Can you believe that? It was in the back yard at a rental house of her's, so we went and picked it up for free!

It's missing the slide, but my friend found him one at a garage sale on Saturday, so he is all set now!
We celebrated my sister-in-law's birthday on sunday with homemade pizza. I was on dough duty...
mmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!! Wish I had some leftovers right about now.
It was a beautiful, relaxing weekend!

Bargain Brag- ready to be jealous??

I stopped in at a thrift store last Saturday and got some serious deals. You're gonna be jealous, so brace yourself. First- this coat was $10 but the sweet lady working said I could have it for $4!
Isn't it beautiful?! The sleeves are 3/4 length. So classy.
The rest of this was in a fill-a-bag for $0.25!
Do you understand what I'm saying??? A bag full of clothes for a quarter!
Love this shirt- it will be great tucked in to my new red high waisted shorts- will share soon.

Double knit polyester dress with detachable tie- this thing fits me like a glove!
Perfect ugly Christmas sweater, but it actually isn't ugly- I will definitely wear it next year!
This is a Tommy Hilfiger sweater. I don't think it has been worn, it still had the spare button sewn to the tag. I would have paid a quarter just for those buttons!

I stuffed 4 more shirts in there too, but they weren't as exciting as these.

Now the question is should I expand my Etsy shop to start selling vintage clothing items? I've been kicking around the idea for a while. Does anyone have any experience with doing so?
